Language acquisition

Dr. Muiris Ó Laoire is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Technology Tralee and the National University of Ireland, Galway. He is a past president of the Irish Association of Applied Linguistics. He has held research fellowships in New Zealand and was IRCHSS Government of Ireland research fellow in 2003. Muiris was a founding member of the International Association of Multilingualism. His research areas include language policy and planning, Irish language and multilingualism. Recent publications have appeared in International Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education, Current Issues in Language and Society and Language Policy
